McAlester, Oklahoma - The church has a membership of 35, of which the majority are senior citizens. McAlester is a city of 30,000 plus, and is growing. Therefore the potential is good for spiritual labor for a enthusiastic preacher to work. The current preacher has health issues and would like to retire from preaching but not from the Lord's work. The 6th& Meredith church of Christ in Dumas, Texas is searching for a sound preacher to work with the church here in a full-time capacity. The congregation is conservative and non-institutional. The congregation is also self-supporting and will provide a newly remodeled brick home (3 bedrooms, 2 living areas, 2 baths, 2 car garage) for the preacher and his family. We have a large building and a Spanish speaking congregation meets in a portion of the classroom wing. The Spanish congregation has a full-time Spanish speaking evangelist, Javier Palomares. Dumas is an excellent place to live. Located in the heart of the Texas panhandle, it has excellent schools and a community college, excellent health care, available jobs, and it provides a stable economy even when the national economy is down.
